OPEN COMPETITION - ONTARIO-BRED PONIES
To honour Ontario-bred ponies on the front lines of competition making a name for Ontario breeders. Points counted from open, non-breed competitions that are judged or timed such as shows, events, trail rides, etc.
All classes that judge the pony not the rider (excluded are showmanship, equitation, horsemanship, etc.) can be used in the point accumulation.
Points can be accumulated once the owner has paid the yearly $25 enrolment fee. Owners must be current participants of Pony Breeders of Ontario for the points to be counted. Riders do not have to be paid participants of Pony Breeders of Ontario.
Show points will be awarded on the following basis:

No class of fewer than 2 entries, including self, shall receive points.
Winners of Championship classes/divisions shall receive 2 additional points; Reserve Champions shall receive 1 additional point.

Endurance/Competitive Trail Ride Points
What counts: Endurance Rides of 50 miles or more and Competitive Trail Rides of 25 miles or more. AERC Limited Distance Rides (judged) will count, however Mileage Rides with other ride organizations do not.
4 points for Completion
1 point for each horse placed above in entire ride not weight division + 1 (self)
6 points for Best Conditioned of the ride (Endurance)
Times co-efficient for ride (50 miles = 50% or 0.5, 25 miles – 25% or 0.25, 100 miles = 100% or 1.0, etc.)
Example: 3rd place out of 20 horses on a 35-mile CTR
4 points for completion
+ 18 points for placing
subtotal = 22 points X .35 = 7.7 points
Eventing & Combined Driving Points
Ponies must successfully complete all phases of an event or trial. In order for points to be awarded ponies shall not have been eliminated, retired or withdrawn.

Award Levels
All Pony Breeders of Ontario-bred Champion winners will receive a suitable plaque; the breeder of the pony will receive a second smaller plaque. All ponies will have their names entered on to the rolls of Pony Breeders of Ontario and be displayed on the PBO website and be listed in the next newsletter publication.
PBO-bred MERIT CHAMPION - Awarded to any individual pony after it has won a total of 60 or more points in any one or more of the following: breeding and/or in-hand, performance classes, dressage, combined driving, eventing, pleasure driving, competitive trail, endurance rides, western games or reining.
PBO-bred HONOUR CHAMPION – Awarded to any individual pony after it has won a total of 120 or more points in any one or more of the following: breeding and/or in-hand, performance classes, dressage, combined driving, eventing, pleasure driving, competitive trail, endurance rides, western games or reining.
PBO-bred EXCELLENCE CHAMPION - Awarded to any individual pony after it has won 240 or more points accumulated as follows: at least 50 of the points must have been won in breeding and/or in-hand classes and 50 of the points must have been won in any one or more of the following: breeding and/or in-hand, performance classes, dressage, combined driving, eventing, pleasure driving, competitive trail, endurance rides, western games or reining.
PBO-bred SUPERIOR CHAMPION – Awarded to any individual pony after it has won 240 or more points accumulated as follows: at least 100 of the points must have been won in breeding and/or in-hand classes and 100 of the points must have been won in any one or more of the following: performance classes, dressage, combined driving, eventing, pleasure driving, competitive trail, endurance rides, western games or reining.
